This little slice of the woods along the Harpeth River are just abundant with wild flora, phlox being one of them. I found a few awesome glowing patches and decided to paint this one in the midday sunlight. The banks by the Harris street bridge were a great subject as there were a few other things I wouldn’t have minded painting. But the phlox had to be rendered. Just too cool. A nice little 10”x10” oil on canvas board that would delight the soul of any floral fans, especially the phlox lovers!
